Set in the American South, the film Vampires of the Velvet Lounge follows Countess Elizabeth Báthory (Mena Suvari) and her coven of vampires, including Joan (India Eisley) who operate of a hidden absinthe bar where they lure in unsuspecting lonely victims they meet through dating apps and drain them to maintain their youth. When they target the wrong matches and cross paths with an undercover vampire hunter and a group of unsuspecting male targets who disrupt the plan, the coven’s routine begins to unravel, leading to a chaotic night of escalating violence, fangs, and green-winged fairies inside the bar.
Suvari and Eisley spoke with SciFi Vision about what drew them to Vampires of the Velvet Lounge and why the script felt different from typical horror material, working with blood effects, and more. Vampires of the Velvet Lounge is now in theaters.
