At this year’s WonderCon, Giorgia Whigham was just as excited to be a fan as she was a featured guest. Discussing her hopes to sneak onto the convention floor - potentially under a mask to avoid a total fan frenzy - the actress who plays the sharp-witted Blaire Bennett sat down to discuss why Season 2 of Ted is the perfect escape for audiences right now.

For many actors, filming on a historic studio lot is a career milestone. For Whigham, it was a homecoming. Having grown up in Los Angeles with an unlimited pass to Universal Studios Hollywood, she spent her weekends riding every attraction, always saving the legendary Tram Tour for last.

"It’s been very full circle," Whigham shared, describing the experience of finally working on the lot as a dream come true. To her, the studio isn't just a set; it’s a place where you can "feel the ghosts of Hollywood." That sense of nostalgia and "Old Hollywood" magic colored her entire experience, making every day on set feel like part of a larger cinematic legacy.

While Ted is famous for its cartoon-like insanity, Whigham is excited for fans to see the grounded evolution of the Bennett family, specifically the relationship between Blaire and Matty (Scott Grimes). This season, Giorgia describes the scenes between the two are "a lot deeper," moving beyond simple shouting matches. Whigham praised Grimes as a "brilliant actor," noting that a great deal of thought went into their characters’ growth. "Maturity comes from the character listening to the other person’s side," Whigham noted. "Not agreeing, but understanding other people do exist outside of their own personal thing."

When asked why audiences should tune into the new season, Whigham pointed to the "tension of the world" as the primary reason. She revealed that she frequently receives DMs from fans explaining how the show makes their lives feel "a little lighter." "That makes me feel that we are doing our job and doing what we intended," she said. By blending real-life problems with Seth MacFarlane’s signature brand of crazy, the show offers a rare chance to brighten a day and escape the pressures of reality.

In an interview shift, Whigham was asked what inanimate object she would be if she returned as a sentient being. Her choice was deeply personal: a white bunny rabbit plush she lost as a child. The well-loved toy was missing its arms from being chewed on during her toddler years, a memory so dear to her that she plans to get a tattoo to commemorate the lost bunny.

As for whether she’d actually want to live in the world of Ted? Whigham gave a cautious "yes." While she admitted that bailing a foul-mouthed bear out of jail would make for great stories, she confessed that living with the Bennetts would likely leave her "overwhelmed and overstimulated,” much like she feels now when her real-life siblings call her with too many updates at once.

Ted Season 2 is currently streaming on Peacock, offering plenty of "full circle" moments and the lighthearted escape Whigham and her castmates worked hard to create.
