The new series The Hunting Party premieres today on NBC. The crime drama follows an elite investigative team tracking escaped criminals from the secret underground prison called “The Pitt” in Cheyenne, Wyoming. The series centers on Rebecca “Bex” Henderson (Melissa Roxburgh), an ex-FBI agent with exceptional profiling skills who is recruited to lead the team. She is joined by Jacob Hassani (Patrick Sabongui), a CIA agent who is her primary collaborator on the task force.

SciFi Vision recently spoke with stars Roxburgh and Sabongui about working on the series, how they prepared for the roles, their partnership on the series, the mystery behind The Pitt, and more.

In Mythic Quest’s fourth season, which premiered recently on Apple TV+, the team reunites at their gaming company with a renewed focus on work-life balance and personal growth. This season Poppy Li (Charlotte Nicdao), who’s a workaholic, attempts to establish boundaries in her partnership with Ian Grimm (Rob McElhenney) and explores life beyond work, including a romantic relationship with her new boyfriend, Storm (Chase Yi). David Brittlsbee (David Hornsby) experiences his own journey of development this season as he navigates the team’s chaotic dynamics, managing increasingly complex challenges like controversial game content and even testifying before Congress.

Nicdao and Hornsby recently spoke with SciFi Vision about working on season four, including stepping behind the scenes for the second episode of the season, “1000%,” which was directed by Nicdao and co-written by Hornsby, what it was like filming the murder mystery episode this season which will air on Wednesday February 12th, and more.

Recently, the BAFTA and Emmy Award-nominated entertainment show Taskmaster returned to New York with the season 19 (or series as they say over the pond) world premiere at The Town Hall to a sold out crowd. Taskmaster Greg Davies and his assistant (and creator of the series) Alex Horne not only screened the episode but also hosted a live event that gave a few lucky attendees from the audience the chance to compete in a real Taskmaster task and be judged by the two.

While in New York, the pair took part in a press day to promote the upcoming season, which will air sometime in 2025 on Channel 4 in the UK as well as be available to stream internationally on the Official Taskmaster YouTube channel and Taskmaster SuperMax+.

During the junket, Davies and Horne spoke with SciFi Vision about their time in New York, what American comedians they’d love to see on the series, if they have any plans to take more tasks on the road, and much more.

In a recent press conference, the team behind Hulu's new series Paradise offered an intimate look into the show's origins and characters. Showrunner Dan Fogelman revealed the concept had been percolating for years, even predating his work on This Is Us. "I had the idea a long time ago," Fogelman explained. The genesis came from a pivotal moment when he was meeting with a powerful industry figure and realized, "When the shit hits the fan, we're all gonna be in the same position."

Sterling K. Brown, who plays Xavier, was drawn to the role as a departure from his previous characters. "I am always looking for something different," he noted. Brown was particularly intrigued by Xavier's emotional restraint, explaining that the character "keeps things a little bit closer to the vest" and is "probably closer to the way a lot of men deal with their emotions."

James Marsden's character, President Cal Bradford, represents a complex exploration of leadership and personal struggle. Marsden described Cal as someone "deeply shaped by his father's influence," who was essentially forced into a political career. "He was bred into the job," Marsden said, emphasizing that Cal "made a decision and an agreement with himself that he's gonna make the best of it and he’s going to try to do the right thing."

Julianne Nicholson was captivated by the depth of her character's journey. "I gasped multiple times in the first episode," she shared. She was particularly impressed by the show's approach to character development, noting that she'd "never seen a single episode of television that allows such an investigation into a person where they started, where they are now."

Dan Fogelman’s Paradise, the political thriller that recently premiered on Hulu, follows head of presidential security, Xavier Collins (Sterling K. Brown), as he is thrust into a complex investigation following the shocking murder of President Carl Bradford (James Marsden) in a seemingly perfect upscale community. Collins works to uncover layers of conspiracies while confronting his own moral boundaries and professional challenges.

The series also stars Krys Marshall as Special Agent Nicole Robinson and Jon Beavers and Nicole Brydon Bloom as secret service agents Billy Pace and Jane Driscoll.

Marshall, Beavers, and Bloom recently spoke with SciFi Vision about their characters, why the wanted to be a part of the series, their preparation, and more.

The second episode picks up from the events of the season finale, but showing the outies’ points of view. Mark’s outie “wakes up” after having shouted at everyone that “she’s alive!” Devon hugs him, questioning it’s really him now and asks him her name. He jokes it’s Persephone. Mark notices he’s still holding the picture frame of Gemma.

Helena stands staring at the long conference table rubbing her neck when Drummond comes in, followed by her father. He’s not happy and calls her a fetid moppet. After he leaves, she tells Drummond they’ll have someone from the floor liaise with the outies. He says that they need to find out who they talked to.

Dylan’s outie leaves Lumon with an ice pack on his head as Milchick watches him from the walkway above.

Helena tells Milchick she wants him to go see all the outies and find out what they said and to who. He asks if he should fire them, and she says to let Kier guide his hand.

Beneath the polished exterior of this seemingly perfect neighborhood lies a web of secrets and desires that refuse to remain hidden. The Couple Next Door delves into the suffocating dynamics of suburban life and the consequences of pursuing forbidden passions. When Evie (Eleanor Tomlinson) and Pete (Alfred Enoch) move into an affluent community, eager to start a family, they form a bond with the couple next door, Danny (Sam Heughan), an assertive traffic officer, and Becka (Jessica De Gouw), a glamorous yoga instructor. As their relationships deepen, one fateful night leads to an intimate entanglement that irrevocably changes their lives forever.

Stars Heughan and De Gouw recently spoke with SciFi Vision about working on the series, collaborating with the cast, and more.

For both actors, the project offered a unique opportunity to explore layered characters and work within a tight-knit cast.

For Heughan, stepping away from his iconic role as Jamie Fraser was part of the appeal. "It was a completely different character to what I’d been playing on Outlander," he explained. "[Danny is] sort of complex and dark and has a lot of secrets.” He added that the cast was also a huge draw for him.

After a three year wait, Severance is finally back for season two with some answers but even more questions. When we last left our team, Dylan had activated the Overtime Contingency Protocol, transporting the innies of Helly, Mark, and Irving into their outies’ bodies, where they each made their own revelations: Helly discovered her outie is Helena Eagan, part of the family who runs Lumon, while Irving found his outie’s paintings of what is likely the testing floor, as well as that the outie of the man he loves, Burt, is in a relationship. Meanwhile, perhaps the biggest reveal for the innies was when Mark discovered that his grieving outie’s wife, Gemma, who everyone thought was dead, is actually Ms. Casey.

Viewers are quickly sucked back into the drama and intrigue right from the opening of the episode with the camera whipping around Mark as he runs through the corridors. It presents a sense of urgency and confusion pulling viewers right back even after such a long absence.

The acting across the board is unsurprisingly fantastic, honestly making it hard to choose a favorite amongst the four main characters. Even the supporting characters are an enjoyment to watch, especially Milchick, who is always hilarious.

The script is excellent all around. The writers did a fantastic job of quickly catching us back up on what we missed and how the innies using the OTC protocol led to the Macrodat Uprising.

As for the mystery itself, I was happy to see that the episode still kept it at the forefront, leaving pieces of the puzzle to dissect, yet still gave us enough on each of the four main characters in the episode to get a picture of where the season is heading, as well as keep us invested in each of their lives.

Fans have been waiting nearly three years, and season two of the psychological thriller Severance is finally around the corner. At Lumon Industries, employees voluntarily undergo a controversial “severance” procedure that splits their consciousness into two distinct identities: “innies,” who exist only at work and have no memory of their outside life or their past, and “outies,” who live outside in the real world with no memory of their jobs.

At the end of last season, Dylan (Zach Cherry) stays behind at Lumon to help the rest of the team at Macrodata Refinement by activating the Overtime Contingency Protocol, waking their innies in the real world. Each makes game changing discoveries.

During a visit with his sister, Mark (Adam Scott)’s innie begins piecing together the life of his outie, who had been grieving the death of his wife Gemma (Dichen Lachman). When he discovers a photograph of her, he realizes that she is actually Ms. Casey, the wellness counselor at Lumon who is very much alive.

Helly (Britt Lower)’s outie is revealed to be Helena Eagan, a member of the powerful Eagan family that runs Lumon. Her outie, who voluntarily underwent the severance procedure, is about to make a speech at a Lumon gala promoting it, but Helly instead uses it to try to expose the company’s unethical practices.

Irving (John Turturro) discovers that his outie has been obsessively investigating Lumon and finds a room full of disturbing paintings of the black hallway of the mysterious testing floor. Finding a map of Lumon employees, Irving sets out to find the home of his innie love interest, Burt (Christopher Walken), only to discover his outie is living happily with another man.

On Call is a procedural drama set in Long Beach, California, following veteran officer Traci Harmon (Troian Bellisario) and rookie Alex Diaz (Brandon Larracuente) as they navigate the challenges of modern policing. The series also stars Eriq La Salle as the tough and principled Sergeant Lasman, who has a complicated history with Harmon and is often clashing with her over career decisions. Lori Loughlin also stars as Lieutenant Bishop, a stern and authoritative figure who prioritizes justice but makes controversial choices that strain relationships within the department.

The cast did ride alongs with real police officers to prep for the roles. “That was sort of the foundation,” La Salle Told SciFi Vision during a recent interview with the press, adding that it was “extremely helpful.”

It was helpful to Loughlin as well. “One of my takeaways was we're all just humans, and I think that's one of the main things that we try to hit on in this show is that we're all just human beings doing the best that we can do,” explained the actress to the site, adding that the officers foremost want to “protect and serve.” She also noticed their relationships with the people in the community. “I was really surprised and touched to see that there's a genuine relationship between the cops and the community,” said Loughlin.
